How it all began!

I was giving Justin a hard time in 2011. He mentioned a draft I finished (which may never see the light of day) and it started the conversation that eventually took us to Port Casper.

We came up with eight different ideas, but the one that stuck was a concept we called Upgrade:

“Upgrade”: Risk, insurance, assurance, and national health care take a bizarre turn in the world of 2102 as society’s understanding life expectancy, work productivity and population growth merges into a singular national and global philosophy. On-the-fly genetic, mechanical, and extra-sensory ‘upgrades’ become the norm, leveling the workforce landscape.
